Day One Snowflake Challenge

I'm Ashley. I've been trying to think of what to say here an failing miserably..
I'm 35 years old. I have 3 kids ages 15, 13, and 10 months old. The 10 month old is currently asleep in my lap because he's rotten. I have 2 cats as well whom I love dearly. I'm married to a man that I completely fell head over heels for at my old job.
I work as a lunch lady at the local high school and I really love it.
I've been in and out of fandom for a long time now. My LJ is 20 years old. I started in the Inuyasha fandom and I made a lot of great friends and had lots of fun. I am currently obsessed with Dragonball, I wish I had the internet in high school because I would have been huge in the dbz fandom then. My 15 year old self was even more obsessed than I am now. I also love Steven Universe a lot though I don't participate in the fandom.

Date: 2020-01-03 08:07 pm (UTC)I will say the online trend for any of these events still seems to be people posting their individual parts and being too nervous to comment to new people. I have had the best success making new friends when I made the first move by going through the challenge post comments and replying to folks with cool icons and interesting comments. It can feel like a lot when you're already stretched thin, but honestly I only replied to 2 new people a day for the 2019 challenge and I met loads of folks who are my current f-list.

Date: 2020-01-06 10:38 pm (UTC)(My grandmother used to be a lunch lady! She ran the cash register and she always put goodies on my tray when I went through. I was very spoiled in elementary school. *g*)

Date: 2020-01-07 01:31 am (UTC)I love being a lunch lady. I run the register, serve the line sometimes, and soon I'll be doing a breakfast cart out in the Commons area for stragglers who don't have time to go to the cafeteria. I try to give extra when I can to the kids. I want them to leave feeling full. It's hard to get through the day hungry.
